President Henry Hanson 1923-1952

This photograph depicts Henry W. A. Hanson shortly after he arrived at Gettysburg in 1923, after a successful tenure as pastor of a large Lutheran congregation in Harrisburg. For the next three decades Hanson was the dominant figure on the Gettysburg campus, leading the College through a depression and world war.
