Dinner with Strangers is an opportunity for Gettysburg students to socialize and network with alumni of the College while enjoying a lovely meal! Alumni and parents host students for an evening of good food and conversation. By the end of the evening, strangers have become friends.
Applications for Dinner With Strangers have closed. This program took place during the week of January 7-11, 2008. Contact us for more information about this program.
Quotes from 2008 Student Participants:
Lyndsay Souza '09 - Why did you participate?
I felt it would be an opportunity to meet practicing attorneys and gain insight into the field because I would like to go to law school. Also I wanted to network with people who may have internship opportunities in the future.
Lyndsay Roberts '08 - Describe the interactions with your host:
We started by catching everyone up on the goings-on at Gettysburg [...] they concentrated on what advice would help me the most [...] where I should move after May to best jumpstart my career, and gave me contacts when they could so I could set up informational interviews.
Tyler Hobbs '08 - What will you tell your friends about this program?
That they should take every possible networking experience. Its not what you know, but who you know more often than not, that helps with jobs after Gettysburg.
