When to contact a Campus Minister
The campus ministers at Christ Chapel are trained religious professionals, lay and ordained, who are present and willing to serve the needs of students, faculty and staff; especially when issues of faith, relationships or career choice arise.
Do you have questions about:
- Faith Choices - College brings changes in life and raises questions about basic issues of identity. New-found freedom and the pain of having too many choices can be a tumultuous time.
- Death and dying - The death of a friend or family member, a roommate's grief, issues of death and dying are a grat challenge and source of sorrow.
- Cults - Do you fear that someone is involved in cultic or occultic activity? Cults often pray upon the wounded, lost and confused.
Would you like to talk about:
- Loneliness - When you are having difficulty finding community, feeling lonely for home, grieving the end of a relationship.
- Feelings of guilt - Are you feeling guilty for not living up to parental expectations, or for choices you have made? Guilt can be an all-encompassing feeling that puts you in need of honest conversation and a word of forgiveness.
- Career decisions - When you are having difficulty deciding on a career,it's good to talk with someone objectively.
- Sexual identity - Questioning our own sexual feelings and identity, or the sexual orientation of a friend often raises new and painful questions.
- Illness or hospitalization - Illness far from home can be traumatic.
- Sexual harassment - Victims of harassment or abuse, whether verbal or physical, need to speak with someone for support, counsel and assistance.
