Michelle Huang

Dr. Huang is licensed as a Psychologist in Pennsylvania and a Professional Counselor in Texas and Pennsylvania.  She graduated with a Doctor of Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University.  Suicide prevention and risk reduction, conflict resolution, and the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, posttraumatic and acute stress disorders, eating disorders, and adjustment issues are specific areas of interest.  Dr. Huang is enthusiastic regarding issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion, and enjoys working with the LGBTQA community and students with varied backgrounds, belief systems, and needs.  Helping to build skills that generalize across the lifespan is another focus of Dr. Huang’s efforts.  Trained in Cognitive and Behavioral Treatments and other evidence-based interventions, Dr. Huang believes it is more important to facilitate wellness and growth than to strictly adhere to one treatment paradigm.  Therefore, her theoretical approach and clinical practice is most often dictated by the specific needs of the individual.  Dr. Huang is also active in sexual assault prevention efforts and is the director of the Peer Resources for Education and Prevention Program (PREPP) on campus.
