Student Reflections: Learning and Action
Student Leadership at CPS:
The Curriculum and Experience:
Ongoing Dialogue and Training. Through Fall Training, bi-weekly
staff meetings, a mid-year retreat, and advisee meetings, PCs are able
to continue learning about local and global issues as well as develop
professional skills and personal direction.
FOUR AREAS OF LEARNING: Learning Circles. Program Coordinators are organized into Learning Circles, which provide the opportunity to share and draw on the knowledge and experience of fellow student leaders, engage in discussions, and develop a support network with one another. During 07-08, the Learning Circles will focus on race, class and migration.

Program Coordinators Experience with CPS: "For me, CPS is where everything comes together. It's not just a job -- it's an experience. As a member of the staff, I have become heavily involved in social justice issues both on and off campus. I had the opportunity to put this learning into action on two Immersion Projects, working alongside my peers and professors. I am also able to use writing as a tool for my work, which ties in well with my English major. Center for Public Service is composed of staff members and volunteers with many different experiences and interests. My work at CPS has truly enhanced my experience at Gettysburg and provided me with the knowledge and connections to build a strong foundation for my future." - Sara Harenchar '09 |
