Sarah Peters' Commitment to Sustainability
The Power Vote campaign is about building a network of youth climate activists across the nation, and encouraging them to vote for any political candidate that supports clean, renewable energy.
This network will be the prelude to PowerShift 09, a huge event at the DC Convention Center where youth activists will gather to share knowledge and experience, as well as try to motivate elected officials to act on climate change.
Sarah Peters '10 is just one of the thousands of individuals across the US collecting pledges from people who promise to vote for candidates supporting clean energy. With the effects of climate change becoming more and more obvious each year, Sara believes there is no other environmental issue more vital or pressing than advocating clean energy. She urges, "we must take action now to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are having such a large impact on our planet."
Sarah is dedicated to sustainability because she "truly love the Earth. What other planet do we know of that has such rich and varied life? I strongly believe that we should preserve the Earth for the sake of ALL the wonderful and unique species that live here, including ourselves."
