OVERVIEW OF OUR PARTNERSHIPS: The Campus Kitchen at Gettysburg College believes that reciprocity is at the core of the project. Students gain knowledge and understanding through work in the community, as well as organizational experience through management of all the operations, programming, administration, fundraising and donations. At the same time, the meals strengthen existing support systems, allowing our partner agencies to use their budgets to improve their worthwhile services and provide support to families, children, and seniors in the community. Through reciprocity, we are able to establish relationships that break down barriers and stereotypes, resulting in the changing of mindsets, attitudes and actions, developing a stronger, more united community. Due to limited space on campus, we work in partnership with South Central Community Action Programs, (SCCAP) where all the food is stored and prepared.

Adams County Circles Initiative Adams County Circles Initiative is a program adapted by SCCAP to help individuals in the Gettysburg community who are working their way out of poverty. This initiative brings together community members with individuals who are fighting to meet their most basic needs in today's society. Members of the Adams County Circles Initiative create caring relationships that cross class and race lines, strengthening our community by sharing their knowledge, gifts, and talents. The Campus Kitchen provides a meal for the Adams County Circles Initiative's weekly meeting so that they save time and money, which can then be better utilized in other aspects of the organization.
