Hughes began as director of the GLC in July 2010. Previously, he served as assistant director of the Explorations program for first-year students and assistant director of student involvement and leadership at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. Hughes earned a bachelor's degree majoring in English literature from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., and master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
