The Art Society is an organization open to all individuals interested in the fine arts. Our goal is to bring art to the campus and community while supporting and encouraging students interested in the visual arts by: sponsoring trips to art institutions; displaying artwork by the group (who can be art and non-art majors and do not necessarily have to be art-educated or skilled) in the form of murals and the Arts Common Hour; bringing speakers to the campus; providing workshops and other artistic outlets to all students; and participating in other art programs.
The Society also helps the campus community with projects by supplying the creativity and artists to get the job done (we do a lot of face-painting!). This provides opportunities for both majors and non-majors to become more familiar with the artistic world around us, as well as inform students of various art-related career opportunities. We seek to enrich the campus and stimulate creative drives while bridging gaps between departments and social groups.
