Ascent Early Arrival and Check In

Early Arrival and Housing 
All ASCENT participants may move in to their college Residence Hall rooms on either Wednesday, August 19 or Thursday, August 20th. You may move all of your belongings for the entire semester into your room at this time. We supply a list of all ASCENT participants to the Office of Residence Life prior to your arrival. If you have questions concerning your room assignment or arriving after business hours, please contact the Office of Residence Life at 717.337.6901.

ASCENT Check-In & Move-in Day on Thursday, August 20th 9:00-11:00 am - Key pick-up in College Union Building and move-in to Residence Hall. Please remember to submit your photo early to the Residence Life office, as your Gettysburg ID will be necessary for accessing your room.

9:00 - 11:00 am. - ASCENT Check-in. You will need about 30 minutes to check-in for your ASCENT trip in the College Union Building Lobby. We ask that each ASCENT participant bring all the gear she or he plans on taking on the ASCENT trip with you to check-in.  There will be approximately 21 student trip facilitators and alumni available at this time to help go through your gear and make sure you have all the necessary equipment and clothing.

11:30 - 1:00 p.m. - During this time, we will host a luncheon in the College Union Ballroom with all ASCENT participants, families, GRAB leaders, and representatives from the College. There will be a welcome session for everyone during this luncheon.

1:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Trip Meetings. At this time the students in each group will get together with their facilitators to do introductions and learn more about your specific itinerary. At this time parents are free to leave the college.

5:30 p.m. - Ascent participants will work with in trip groups to cook their own dinner on campus.

8:00 a.m. -Friday- Meet in the CUB Ballroom and prepare for 9:00 a.m. departure.

Tuesday, August 20 - Trips return to campus by early afternoon, full Ascent barbecue on campus for all participants.
