Backpacking & Environmental Awareness - Shenandoah National Park $295.00

Ascent

A Brief Overview...

Ascent Camp

Just under a two hour drive from the commotion of our nation's capital and Gettysburg, Shenandoah National Park is home to premiere backpacking locations and breath-taking scenery. With over 500 miles of trail, waterfalls, and scenic overlooks, this year participants will have the opportunity to be a part of history as the park celebrates its 75th anniversary. Come experience "Old Rag" the Shenandoah's most popular hike, while getting to try some 'scrambling' up mountain peaks.

This group will hike five to ten miles a day, both on the Appalachian and local trails, in addition to learning topics such as map and compass use, Leave-No-Trace, and backcountry living skills. The group will sleep in tents, carry their equipment in backpacks, and will not have access to bathrooms.
