Attire - What Should I Wear?
All participants should be prepared for all types of weather outside on the course. We plan on facilitating your Challenge Course experience in most weather conditions. Once it is determined that the weather is a hindrance on the group performance we will make other arrangements to complete the workshop. Proper dress is extremely important out on the Challenge Course.
Winter and Early Spring
During the winter and spring months--it can easily feel 5-10 degrees colder on the Challenge Course due to the wind and exposure. We suggest you wear the following:
- v Several layers of clothing - to ensure that you stay warm and dry.
- v Jacket - wear multiple layers of clothing with a jacket that will protect you from the wind and resist rain-it is easier to remove extra clothing than to not have it at all!
- v Gloves and ski hats go a long way to keep you warm and comfortable
- v Boots or sneakers with wool/pile socks are also important to keep you comfortable.
Remember that you will be out on the Challenge Course during your entire workshop-even though we are doing activities, there are many times we are standing around briefing and debriefing, and it can get quite chilly at times.
Late Spring, Summer, and Early Fall
During the summer and fall months it has tendency to feel hotter on the Course due to the lack of shade. During Summer and Fall, we recommend the following:
- v Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a baseball hat/visor - These are the most important pieces of protection you can have to protect you from sun exposure during the summer and early fall.
- v Loose fitting shorts/jeans and T-shirts - a key factor in comfort.
- v Sneakers or boots - Please DO NOT wear sandals or any type of shoe that does not provide good ankle support or traction.
- v Rain jacket - Just in case. Also, the mornings can sometimes be cool, so a light jacket will help keep you warm until the sun starts to heat things up in the afternoon.
- v Water bottles - we will always provide water and cups out on the course, but you may have your own favorite water bottle you would like to use. Hydration is extremely important!!!
