Trainings
The Gettysburg Recreational Adventure Board (GRAB) staff receives approximately 450 hours of training annually that consists of classroom and field instruction. The major components of our training focus on group facilitation, risk assessment & legal issues, wilderness medical care, environmental issues, technical skills, leadership, and professional learning goals with an emphasis on climbing, sea kayaking, and winter camping.
Our goal is concentrate our efforts on a important issues and lessons such as decision making, communication, trust, and respecting individual differences while maintaining a full value experience. The backcountry is just a medium to teach and learn about the professional skills necessary to succeed in any place of employment after graduation.
