Prospective Students/New Members
The Greek community at Gettysburg College has been in existence since 1855, and has maintained a strong commitment to excellence. Gettysburg students become eligible for membership into Greek Organizations at the beginning of their sophomore year.
While each organization maintains its own activities, traditions, and national affiliations, all share a similar set of core values. Our Greek community is built upon the following ideals: scholarship, leadership, friendship and service. As you begin to make your decision about joining a greek organization on campus, understand that your membership reflects a commitment to these ideals.
Our Greek Organizations on campus, in tandem with the office of Greek Organizations, have worked hard to build a community that fosters academic excellence, leadership ability, philanthropic services, and active contributions to both the campus and the local Gettysburg community.
Our Greek community consists of 10 fraternities and six sororities, with a total membership of over 800 students.
