To all new international students—Welcome to Gettysburg College!
In order to help make your transition to Gettysburg College smoother, the International Student Services office offers a comprehensive international student orientation that will introduce you to many of the important resources on campus, while making sure that you understand the regulations for studying in the United States on an F-1 visa. It is also an important time to get to know your fellow international students and adjust to life at Gettysburg College before beginning your classes. For these reasons, International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students. If you unable to attend the orientation, you will need to make arrangements with Brad Lancaster, Director of International Student Services, to attend a suitable make-up orientation session.
You can find the orientation schedule here (pdf).
Please plan on arriving at Gettysburg College no later than August 21, 2014 so you can be ready for orientation to start on August 22nd. If you need to be picked up at a nearby airport, please make sure to fill out the International Student Arrival form and we will schedule with our Transportation Services department to pick you up. You will receive a detailed email from them explaining how to meet your driver at the airport. The email will also contain emergency contact phone numbers in case you don’t easily find the driver.
We are very happy that you are coming to Gettysburg College and we are very excited to meet you! If you have any questions, please feel free to email Brad Lancaster at firstname.lastname@example.org.
