Every year in December, the International Club works with many other clubs on campus to host a night of performances, food and culture from around the world. See below for pictures of this past year's event!
The International Club invited the college community to join us in the celebration of Diwali/Tihar in Glatfelter Lodge on October 30 at 6pm. Diwali/Tihar, an important festival in South Asia celebrates the victory of good over evil. During this festival, people decorate their houses with candles and lights, which gives it its popular name "the festival of lights".
This event featured delicious Nepali and Indian cuisine along with cultural decorations such as rangoli and "diyas" (candles). It was organized during family weekend to provide students as well as their families with an opportunity to experience the celebration of a different cultural event. Past celebrations have included impromptu singers, native instrument players, and dance performers all of whom provided additional elements of festivity to the event. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet new people and have a diverse cultural experience.
