Your Second Year

Your 2nd Year program meets the needs of students during this time in college.  Students must consider the connections and complexities of a liberal arts education.  Some common questions students face are:

• What are my academic strengths and interests?
• How would off campus study enhance my experience?
• Which course of study (major) is the best fit for me?
• What career training opportunities are available?
• How would service learning sharpen my critical thinking?
• Where do I go for guidance?  

Your 2nd Year was created by Ruth de Jesus, Assistant Dean.  She promotes an environment of active listening, thoughtful reflection, forward thinking and shared excitement.  

Your 2nd Year meets specific needs of students of color.  Participants are also encouraged to bring 2nd-year friends and roommates who may not traditionally participate in IRC events.  Students may participate according to their needs and interests.
