May 23

After a comfortable night's sleep outside of Bryce National Park, we were disappointed to wake up to a cold rainy day.  We canceled our hike at Bryce and drove into Kanab, UT, in search of better weather.  We connected with John Hiscock, Superintendent of Pipe Spring National Monument.  He gave the group a private tour of the interpretive center and historic buildings.  John Hiscock received permission from the Kaibab Pauite tribal leaders to lead us on a hike to petroglyphs in the Kaibab Paiute Indian Reservation.  Our search for sunny weather, however, was futile.  The group was rained and hailed on twice on this exploration.

At site of Kaibab Paiute petroglyphs.
