Road Trip May 20
May 20 - St. Louis to Utah!
The long drive through the plains of eastern Colorado made the group question the existence of the Rocky Mountains. At early sunset, in an unusually hazy western sky, we could make out the outline of mountains in the distance. We debated camping out in the Rockies but decided against a cold night at 11,000 feet. This meant driving another long day. The drive down desolate I-70 West of the Rockies was dark and tiring. After pulling off onto Utah highway 128, we camped at the first available campground on the Colorado River.
