Road Trip May 22
May 22 - Arches National Park
We decided on a slower start to the day to give the rain clouds a chance to move on. This meant time for blueberry and apple cinnamon pancakes. The drive to Arches National Park from Moab takes less than 10 minutes. Then we drove through the park to our trailhead. The trail over sandstone was marked by cairns, stacked rocks to point hikers in the right direction. The students had seen countless pictures of the iconic Delicate Arch. Even so, they were not prepared for the initial sight of the Arch after the final bend in the path. We left Arches NP for Goblin Valley State Park where we set up camp, cooked over camp stoves, huddled around a campfire and feasted on smores.
