Y2Y - Road Trip

Utah Highway

Your 2nd Year Road Trip

If you have participated in a track, you can apply for the end of year road trip to Southern Utah led by the IRC and Office of Experiential Learning.

OBJECTIVE: The trip will expose you to life beyond the east coast, life beyond the inner city, life beyond the familiar realms of your personal experience. You will be challenged to consider your place as a citizen and change agent in American society. You will be invited to reflect on your connection to the environment and develop a sense of ownership and responsibility of the natural world.

Critical Reflection, Personal Implications

Students will travel to a region rich with indigenous history, unusual wildlife, geographical phenomena and far-reaching skies. Southern Utah is home to five national parks, and numerous national historic sites and monuments.

Each night, students will be expected to reflect on their experience through guided journaling. They will consider how their wilderness experience informs and will shape their life decisions.

Capitol Reef

Southern Utah is known to outdoor enthusiasts as nature's playground. It offers endless possibilities for learning.
