Aimee George
Name: Aimee Sarah George
Hometown: Singapore
Year: 2009
Area of Study: Political Science, Globalization Studies, Philosophy, Peace and Justice Studies
Interests: I love serving my community, by getting involved both on campus and in the greater Gettysburg area. I am on the leadership team with the Campus Kitchens Project. I tutor English at the Adams County Literacy Council, co-lead the Peace Club and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. I am the RC for Theme Housing. I work as a Tour Guide with Admissions and also here in the IRC.
What drew you to Gettysburg College? As an international student, I was touched that Gettysburgians made the effort to constantly reach out and communicate with me while I was home over emails, letters and even two phone calls. Before I was even enrolled, they were so concerned about it; I thought "what more when I'm actually a student!"
What do you appreciate about the IRC? The staff and students here make the IRC my second home. Regardless of the time of day, even as late as midnight (just sometimes, don't worry!), there is a community you can always seek out.
