Elections
Elections for the 2010-2011 academic year will begin Wednesday March 15th at 12AM. To vote, please open your CNAV account and click on MyVotes from the drop down menu. Persons interested in becoming involved in senate should contact an executive board member and attend senate meetings which are held every Monday at 7:00PM.
Eligibility
The eligibility requirements to run for an elected office are strictly enforced. All candidates must be recognized as full-time matriculating Gettysburg College Students. Candidates must have a minimum scholastic standing of a 2.0 GPA. Persons are not eligible for candidacy if they:
- Are on academic probation
- Are on conduct probation
- Possess 6 or more points under the College Points System
- Are studying off campus during the desired term
Additionally, all candidates are required to complete a candidacy petition and submit a cover letter and resume by the designated date for each respective office.
Election Open Information Hours
Information hours regarding the Executive Positions of the Student Senate for the 2010-2011 academic year will be held on the following dates:

Monday, March 1st from 2PM to 3PM
- Tuesday, March 2nd from 1PM to 2PM
- Wednesday, March 3rd from 1PM to 3PM
- Thursday, March 4th from 1PM to 2PM
- Friday, March 5th from 2PM to 3PM
Information hours regarding the Senator Positions of the Student Senate and Class Officers for the 2010-2011 academic year will be held on the following dates:
- Monday, March 15th from 2PM to 3PM
- Wednesday March 17th from 2PM to 3PM
- Friday, March 19th from 2PM to 3PM
All open information hours will be held in the Student Senate Office, located in the Basement of Plank Gym.
Petition forms will be available starting March 1st.
Senate Executive Council
The election for President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Student Senate for the 2010-2011 academic year will be held March 17-19, 2010. Speeches from the Presidential candidates will be held on March 15, 2010 at 7PM in Mara Auditorium. Those interested in running for an Executive Office should attend one of the Election Information Sessions. Completed petitions, cover letters, and resumes must be submitted to the Student Senate Office by March 5th at 5PM. Please note that in order to run for an Executive position; the candidate must have held a previously elected Senate position, or formally request permission from the Senate Executive Council.

Senator
The election for rising Sophomore and rising Junior Senators for the 2010-2011 academic year will be held in March 22-26, 2010. Those interested in running for a Senator position should attend one of the Election Information Sessions. Completed petitions, cover letters, and resumes must be submitted to the Student Senate Office by March 19th at 5PM. Please note that because of the importance of studying abroad, we have made accommodations so that rising Juniors are eligible to run for a Fall or Spring single semester term or for a full year term.
Sophomore and Junior Senator Petitions
The election for First-Year and Senior Senators for the 2010-2011 academic year will be held in September 2010. Those interested in running for a Senator position should attend one of the Election Information Sessions. Completed petitions, cover letters, and resumes must be submitted to the Student Senate Office by the late August Deadline.

The elections for Class President, Class Vice President, Class Treasurer, and Class Secretary for the 2009-2010 academic year will be held in March 22-26, 2010. Those interested in running for an Executive Office should attend one of the Election Information Sessions. Completed petitions, cover letters, and resumes must be submitted to the Student Senate Office by March 19th at 5PM.
