Lutheran Student Movement
Lutheran Student Movement is a pan-Lutheran student governed group which meets weekly. Activities include fellowship, bible study and worship, informal discussions of Christian responses to social justice and faith issues, and participation in volunteer service opportunities.
Newman Association is a Roman Catholic student group which meets bi-weekly. It's purpose is to help provide an environment in which Catholic students can practice their faith, grow spiritually and find community. Activities include speakers, discussions, bible study, and retreats, as well as weekly suppers and several off-campus excursions each year. Many members of Newman Association serve in liturgical roles at mass on Sunday evenings as lectors, extraordinary ministers, ushers and greeters. The Newman Association is open to all students.
Hillel at Gettysburg College is dedicated to the support and enhancement of Jewish life. Hillel meets on a regular basis for Shabbat meals, religious, cultural, educational and social events.
Muslim Student Association
The Muslim Student Association was organized to foster unity and to help non-Muslims gain a better understanding of the principles of Islam. Activities include dinners on major Muslim holidays, sponsoring speakers, and trips to local mosques.
Episcopal students on campus gather regularly and host bi-weekly Eucharist services over the lunch hour.
The Interfaith Council
This council is composed of one representative and an alternate from each religious group on campus. The council meets monthly and it's focus is to help the campus-wide community focus on educational and religious/spiritual life. They also execute and plan the thematic focus of each springs "Religious Emphasis Week." Every religious group on campus is required to be registered with the Chaplain of the College, to attend and partake in monthly meetings of the Council, and to abide by the College's guidelines for the conduct of religious groups, as well as all other College policies and procedures.
DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship
DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship is an affiliated chapter of the DiscipleMakers ministry. The organization's purpose is to help change lives through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The group meets regularly for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and worship of God. Participation in the group's activities is open to all students, faculty, and staff of Gettysburg College who are interested in its purpose and desire to know and spread the Word of DiscipleMakers.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the largest Christian sports organization in the world. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. At Gettysburg the group holds weekly meetings in Bream.
