Storage for Domestic Students

In order to take advantage of the on-campus storage service in Apple Hall, you must live at least 600 miles away from campus.  For those who don't meet this requirement, please refer to any of the local self-storage facilities in and around the Gettysburg area.

If you meet the above requirement for Apple Storage, please click on the link below to complete the storage request form.  Requests will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis; storage space is limited.  Note: Furniture is not permitted in storage rooms!

You will be notified whether or not you may store items in Apple Hall storage by the Friday of the following week and have until the last day of classes to accept or decline storage. If accepted, you will be required to select an appointment time to able to take your items to storage.  These appointment times will determined each semester and will occur during the week of final examinations. If you do not respond accepting storage by 5:00 p.m. on the appointed Friday, your storage slot may be bumped, as there is always a waiting list. You will not necessarily be notified of being bumped in advance.

Storing your Items
Upon arriving to store your items, please make sure you do the following:

  • Bring your email response stating that you have storage rights.
  • Be prepared to place your items in a 3'x3' space. Piling may go as high as you wish.

Retrieving your Items
As the beginning of each semester nears, details will be announced on how and when to arrange to retrieve your items once you return to campus. Access to storage will be by appointment only. 

Please note: we do not provide carts, hand trucks, or any assistance with moving your belongings.  Items cannot be left in Apple storage throughout the semester/year if the student is present on campus.  Access will only be granted to Apple storage at the beginning and end of each semester.  Numerous trips to add/remove items during the semester will not be permitted. Staff in the Office of Residential & First-Year Programs will inventory storage and contact residents about retrieving their items that are left in storage.  Items not picked up from storage after numerous attempts have been made to contact the student about picking up their items will be considered abandoned and may be either be donated or discarded without further notice.
