Housing Details

Apple Hall

Located near the College Union Building, Apple Hall provides apartment-style housing for upperclass students.

Apple Hall, named after John A. Apple, first opened in 1959. An addition, Apple Annex, was added in 1968. The entire complex was renovated in 1986, and today Apple Hall houses 200 upperclass students in apartment-style housing. It is located near the College Union Building, the Dining Center, Bream/Wright/Hauser Athletic Complex and most academic buildings.

Each apartment in both Apple Hall and Apple Annex has a full kitchen (including a full-size refrigerator and range) and a full bathroom with shower-only units.

Kitchens in Apple Annex have a counter-space area with bar stools, while kitchens in Apple Hall have a table with chairs. Kitchens are not equipped with dinnerware and cookware.

Each bedroom has carpeting and built-in closet space, a desk, a dresser, and an extra-long bed (38 inches x 80 inches x 6 1/2 inches) for each resident.  Students may contact Facilities Services at 717-337-6700 to request the additional pieces necessary to bunk or loft their bed.  There is a limited supply of the pieces necessary for lofting beds; therefore, students are provided the pieces on a first-come, first-served basis.  There is approximately 15 inches between the floor and the bottom of the bed.  To gain additional storage space below the bed, students may use bed risers, which are available for purchase at the College Bookstore.

The common area furniture consists of a sofa, a chair and a coffee table.

The third floor of Apple Hall (apartments 300-308) is loft apartments.  There are stairs within each unit that lead to additional sleeping areas on a second floor.
