Student Conduct Review Board
The Student Conduct Review Board hears serious cases of alleged violations of the Code of Conduct.
1) Selection process
a) students selected by Student Senate and the Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities in the spring semester
b) faculty members appointed by the Faculty Governance Committee
2) Membership
a) Total Membership
1. Administrative chairperson(s) from the College Life Staff, non-voting
2. student members, one who is appointed from the Residence Life staff, 7 of whom are elected by Senate for a one year term, voting
3. faculty members appointed by the Executive Committee of the Faculty and serve staggered two year terms, voting
4. Administrative members of the Dean of the College Staff selected by the Dean
b) Individual Hearing Board (minimum quorum)
1. Administrative Chairperson, non-voting,
2. Three student members, voting
3. One faculty member, voting
4. One Administrator, voting
3) Membership qualifications
No member will have been found responsible of a major violation before or while serving on the Student Conduct Review Board; minor cases will be reviewed and dismissal will be on a case-by-case basis
4) Term of office
a) Membership for students will be for one year, term running from fall through spring semester. Members may be re-appointed for successive terms
b) Membership for faculty members will be for two years with each year term running from fall through spring semester
5) Termination of membership
a) Members will not have more than 3 unexcused absences from hearings or meetings per term of membership
b) Members will not sit on any hearing board until they have completed the training process. Failure to complete training will result in the termination of membership
c) Majority vote is needed to dismiss a member of the Board
d) The chairperson will make a recommendation to the Executive Committee of the Faculty for replacement of a faculty member
