Withdrawal from Courses
A student may drop a course only with the permission of the instructor, and the Registrar. If a course is dropped within the first twelve class days of the semester it will not appear on the transcript and no grade will be assigned. After the twelfth day, but within the first eleven weeks of the term, the student will receive a grade of W. In the event of a drop during this period, the student's advisor must also approve. A student who withdraws from a course during the last five weeks of a semester will receive the grade of F regardless of his/her standing in the course at that time. This grade of F is awarded 0 quality points and is used in computing a student's average. If a student registers for a course, does not attend or participate in that course, but does not withdraw officially in the manner described above, a grade of NF (non-attendance failure) will be assigned and computed in the student's average in the same way as an F. The student must petition the Registrar to seek removal of an NF.
