Internship Opportunities and Suggestions

This page is your resource for finding an internship to complement your participation in the Women’s Leadership Program. This purpose of completing an internship is to apply the skills that you have learned at the Retreat and Workshops in real-life, practical scenarios.

Below you will find a plethora of internship, externship, and volunteer opportunities that you may consider to fulfill this requirement. However, you are not limited to this list. We encourage you to find other internships or volunteer opportunities elsewhere that may better suit your interests. The only requirement is that you complete at least 40 hours in the internship of your choice. All internships must be approved by either Professor Stephanie Sellers or Andy Hughes. Please make sure to email them your internship selection (what it is, place, and dates), or any other ideas you may have for fulfilling this requirement.

The Center for Career Development is a wonderful resource, and we encourage you to take advantage of it! If you haven’t already, check out Gettysburg Works, which lists job, internship, and volunteer opportunities, many of which are in the Gettysburg Area. If you wish, you can fulfill this requirement and earn academic credit for your work through the Center for Career Development (different requirements may apply).

While not required, we encourage you to journal your experiences on the job. This will enrich your learning, and will be a great record of all that you have accomplished. Your notes will also be very helpful when it comes time to write your final paper for the WLP!
