Born and raised a Jersey Girl (and don’t you forget it), Sue pursued an eclectic (read: haphazard) career path, quickly abandoning horticulture in favor of coffee, air conditioning, and indoor plumbing. A stint in trade book publishing led her back to Rutgers just as higher education was awakening to the idea of promotion and marketing. After a few years in the award-winning university publications office, Sue went on to develop marketing communications at (then) Trenton State College, where the vision and leadership of President Harold Eickhoff shifted her self-image from that of a communicator working in higher education to a true believer with some communications and marketing skills. Helping others see the difference they can make by supporting Gettysburg College’s educational mission is what gets her out of bed in the morning. Sue and her husband Bob Way met in college, and they live in Carlisle with two spaniels. Their son Zach Baldwin-Way is a musician studying at Berklee College of Music.
