Born and raised in rural Oley, PA, Nikki is the only child of two public school teachers who taught her the value of a quality education from a young age. After graduating high school, Nikki ventured to the “big city” of Allentown, PA to attend Muhlenberg College. At Muhlenberg, she was a double major in Media & Communications and Political Science, as well as a four-year starter on the field hockey team (GO MULES!) Nikki was a quintessential liberal arts student, also acting as a campus tour guide, admissions office student worker, member of the Cardinal Key alumni society, Dana Scholar, and member of several other clubs and organizations.
In 2008, after graduating magna cum laude from Muhlenberg with honors in both of her majors, Nikki pursued a career that combined her interests of government, politics, and the media. She landed a summer internship in a Senate press office on Capitol Hill, which would only be the beginning of over two years spent in DC. Upon completion of her internship, Nikki was offered a constituent service Staff Assistant position in the same office, nine months later transitioning back to the press office where she became Press Assistant for over a year.
While she thoroughly enjoyed her time on the Hill, two years in DC left Nikki longing for the familiarity of Pennsylvania and new opportunities. In early October 2010, she came to Gettysburg College (Centennial Conference rival of her alma mater). In her current role as senior assistant director of communications, Nikki works on media relations, produces content for the college website, and promotes the College's brand, distinctive programs, academic reputation, and historic location, among other things.
Nikki lives in Gettysburg with her boyfriend, guinea pig, and two cats. She considers south central PA home, and has even been known to cheer for the Bullets…just don’t expect to see her in orange and blue when her beloved Mules are in town.
