Brand Signature

What do we mean when we say, Do great work? For more than 170 years, thousands of men and women have emerged from Gettysburg College as the hope of their generations. Today's Gettysburg students are strong new links in that unbroken chain of accomplishment. Their presence here is a testament to the determination of every generation who preceded them to strive for excellence.

Today's Gettysburg College provides a fully dimensional, enriched education that offers every student the opportunity to do great work. We engage a faculty of scholars who prefer teaching to professing. We know our institutional history and help each other to gain the wisdom that comes from understanding it. And we honor our traditions - those acts of reverence, kindness, and grace that have always characterized our College, our alumni, and our students.

Our brand signature, "Do great work," serves as a quiet motivator and ever-present reminder of what we have accomplished together, and as individuals, since the founding of our College.

"Do great work" signature art

• In print or electronic communications, it should never dominate the design of the layout. It will be omnipresent, but subtle and therefore proportionately small given the size of the overall piece of communications. See the chart below for specifications.
• It should appear only once in any given printed piece.
• The signature should never be used as a headline or as text.
• It is a distinct piece of art, never to be used as part of a graphic unit with the wordmark or any other College
• identifier.
• The three words should always remain intact.
• The official signature block can be obtained from the Office of Communications & Public Relations. Please
• do not attempt to recreate the artwork.
• The Signature Block is always "attached" to an edge or a line within the overall layout.
• The Signature Block always appears level (reads horizontal left to right) or is rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise from level.
