Fee is a specialist in Old English language and literature. He also has additional teaching and research interests in the history of English, Middle English, medieval drama, Old Norse, British mythology; theories of torture, pain and the body as text; and technology and pedagogy. Fee also teaches a First Year Seminar on the Literature of Homelessness that includes a substantial service-learning component in Washington, D.C.
Professional Achievements:
Fee has published several articles, has given conference presentations on many different topics, and has one book out, one under contract and in process, and one under revision. Gods, Heroes, and Kings: The Battle for Mythic Britain, written with David Leeming, was published by Oxford in 2001; the paperback was issued in March 2004. Mythology in the Middle Ages, a volume in the Praeger series on the Middle Ages edited by Jane Chance, is currently in the works. Torture and Text in Anglo-Saxon England: Pain and the Body in Old English Religious Verse, currently under revision, is Fee's third book project.
Educational Background:
Fee earned a master's degree in English at Loyola University in Chicago; a master's degree in medieval studies at the University of Connecticut; and a doctorate in English language at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
