Veronique Delesalle
Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies

Delesalle earned bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from McGill University, and a doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on the ecology and evolution of flowering plants - central to understanding the existence and diversity of almost all other terrestrial organisms. With training in ecology, population biology and ecological genetics, Delesalle also teaches courses in ecology and conservation biology in Gettysburg's environmental studies department.

Cavaliere earned bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from Arizona State University and a doctorate in botany from Duke University. A member of the Gettysburg faculty since 1966, he specializes in mycology - the study of mushrooms - and marine fungi and algae. His recent research interests have included fungal deterioriation of 18th- and 19th-century documents, Bermuda's seashore plants and seaweeds, and fungal growth infesting the murals in the tomb of Tutankhamun.
