Jack Ryan
Associate Professor of English

Ryan earned doctoral and master's degrees in English from Case Western, a bachelor's degree from New York University and an associate's degree from Broome Community College. At Gettysburg College, he has also served as writing center director and director of composition since 1994. Prior to coming to Gettysburg, he worked at Case Western as a mentor teaching assistant, master tutor in English, assistant director of the University Writing Center, summer coordinator of the Graduate Teaching Assistant Training and mentor teaching assistant coordinator.

Ryan is author of John Sayles, Filmmaker: A Critical Study and a number of articles for publications, including Creative Screenwriting and Aethlon: The Journal of Sport Literature.
