Dining and Vending Services

The Gettysburg College Dining Center has been ranked one of the top 10 in the country by the Princeton Review. Dining Services will provide meals to members of the conference group at times mutually agreed upon; however, the Department of Dining Services reserves the right to suggest amended meal times in order to best accommodate all conference groups. It is the responsibility of the conference leader to emphasize the following to the group: 

While in the Dining Center, conference members must wear shoes and shirts. Cleats, squeeze bottles, and other refillable containers are not permitted. Ice cream and whole fruit are the only food items permitted to leave the Dining Center. Individuals must return their soiled dishes to the dish return area prior to leaving the building. Vegetarian options are always available. Please let us know of any dietary considerations that any of your participants need. No kosher or completely organic meals are available.

Conference attendees must have a meal card for admittance to the Dining Center. Participants will not be admitted into the dining hall without this meal card. This is provided by Conference Services at registration. All youth groups must have a chaperone or staff member in line with the participants and in the Dining Center during meal times. Adult groups should have a staff member or volunteer in the building during meal times.

Gettysburg College will provide all conferences with one (1) meal card per person attending. This card will enable individuals to eat meals at the Dining Center. This is also your vending card. Please see below for more information on Vending Services. If lost, a replacement card will be issued by the event sponsors.  

Dining Services observes normal serving times and prices of:

Breakfast          7:00am-8:30am                  $5.00

Lunch                11:30am-1:00pm                $7.10

Dinner              4:30pm-6:00pm                  $10.05

When requesting meal times, please choose during the above listed times. The Dining and Conference Services staff will continue to work with groups to find mutually agreed upon times. Groups are asked to vacate the building within a half hour after its assigned serving times. Other/additional times may be available for an additional charge. Dining Services reserves the right to change times and services offered based on the numbers of conference participants at each meal.

Tips to share with your participants for an optimal experience in the Dining Center:

• Arrive at the beginning of your designated serving time.
• Have your meal cards in your hand and ready at the checker station.
• Vacate the dining hall as soon after eating as possible.
• Remember the Dining Center is a facility shared by all campus constituents.

For conference planners, please schedule staff members in line and at the Dining Center. You may also consider sending your group in shifts of 10-15 minute intervals to avoid long lines.

Vending

Gettysburg College has a cashless vending system. All individuals attending conferences at Gettysburg College will be issued a card, which is used to operate all vending equipment, washers and dryers, and copier equipment. A value of $1.00 per night stay will be placed on this card upon arrival. Cards will be given to conferences to distribute with room keys and should be returned with keys upon departure. The vending value that is on your card is an optional service to the group. While no fees are discounted, you may still choose not to offer this to your participants. Meal/Vending cards may not be altered in any way.
