The department of Instructional Technology and Training (ITT) within the Information Technology Division, in collaboration with the staff of Musselman Library, maintain a Digital Center located on the ground floor of the Library. This Center is a resource that all students, faculty, and staff can use to work with digital media, such as video, images, and audio files, as well as scan text, images, and slides, and perform a number of different types of media conversion during all open library hours. The Digital Center Office and Support Desk are staffed by members from ITT and trained student employees during the following hours:

  • Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 10:00pm
  • Friday 8:00am - 8:00pm
  • Saturday 10:00am - 8:00pm
  • Sunday  noon - 10:00pm

Most of the services provided in the Digital Center are self-service.  This area is open to all members of the campus community during all regular Library hours and will provide open access to:

  • Flatbed and slide scanners
  • High-speed multi-page scanners with OCR (text recognition) capability
  • Media card reader capability
  • Media conversion stations for digital video and audio
  • Poster printing stations

In addition, the following services are available in the Digital Studio by reservation:

  • Audio recording
  • Audio editing
  • Video editing
  • Still photography

From the Support Desk in the Digital Center, students can borrow equipment such as digital voice recorders and digital video and still cameras for course projects using their student ID.

Also on the ground floor of the library is a laptop-friendly designated area with access to power, internet, printing, and two large screen monitors where students can work collaboratively or individually on course projects.
