Medical, Dental, Flexible Spending Accounts & Aflac 


  • We continue to see the effects of our commitment to wellness. Additionally, our decision to change our funding from fully-insured to self-insured has allowed us to move closer to our cost-sharing goal of 75% employer/25% employee ratio.

  • With a 5% employee increase in premium for 2012, we expect the estimated ratio to be 78% employer/22% employee, unless our claims are higher than anticipated.

  • The medical plan designs for PPO1, PPO2 and PPO3 remain the same.

  • We appreciate your wellness efforts and encourage you to participate in the 9th year of Wellness Works: Shape Up Gettysburg! Wellness enrollment for 2011-2012 will begin on December 1, 2011. We will be using Moodle instead of CNAV this year.

  • Please continue your wellness efforts by participating in the Succeed Health Risk Assessment (Succeed) and the Multiphasic Blood Screening (MBS).

  • Enrollment in healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts and Aflac take place during the Open Enrollment. If you are interested in participating in the 2012 flexible spending accounts program (Payflex), you need to complete the enrollment form by the deadline. 2012 Payflex pledges cannot be accepted after 12/2/2012.

  • The 2012 403(b) contributions limits have been increased. For those under age 50, the maximum is $17,000; for those age 50 and older the maximum is $22,500. To change your contribution, use the Salary Reduction Agreement. Remember last year at this time, we added non-proprietary funds to the investments options with TIAA-CREF.
