Medical, Dental, Flexible Spending, Aflac and Cigna Life Insurance
- Our health insurance premiums for 2013 will increase by 3%. This is good news for Gettysburg College as Highmark Blue Shield’s annual medical trend is 9.8%. 2013 Medical Premiums.
- We believe your wellness efforts have helped us “beat” trend and encourage you to participate in the 10th year of our program: Wellness Works. Wellness enrollment for 2012-2013 will begin December 3, 2012. You may sign up in Moodle.
- Be sure to participate in the Wellness Profile and the Multiphasic Blood Screening.
- Our dental premiums remained the same for the past two years; however, because of higher utilization, the 2013 premiums will increase by 7.6%.
2013 Dental Premiums.
- Enrollment in healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts and Aflac take place during the Open Enrollment. If you are interested in participating in the 2013 FSA- Flexible Spending Accounts program (Payflex), you must complete the enrollment form by the deadline. In 2013, the healthcare maximum is $2,500; the dependent care remains $5,000.
2013 FSA pledges cannot be accepted after November 30, 2012.
- Our new life and long term disability provider is Cigna. The benefit remains the same; however, during this open enrollment period, Cigna has agreed to provide a guaranteed issue period for the supplemental life insurance plan. Employees may purchase up to $60,000 and spouses $10,000 without medical underwriting.
- The 2013 403(b) contributions limits have been increased. For those under age 50, the maximum is $17,500; for those age 50 and older the maximum is $23,000. To change your contribution, use the Salary Reduction Agreement.
