Assistant Director of Annual Giving - Volunteer Programs

Gettysburg College seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Director of Annual Giving - Volunteer Programs, within the Division of Development, Alumni, and Parent Relations.  This is a full-time, 12-month administrative and professional staff position reporting to the Director of Annual Giving.  The Assistant Director will work with the Annual Giving team to develop strategies and execute programs to increase gift support for the College's operating budget through the Gettysburg Fund and other current fund initiatives. 

The Assistant Director will have primary responsibility for designing, staffing, managing and directing programs for the Gettysburg College BOLD Program (Burgians of the Last Decade). The BOLD Program is a newly-created collaborative program with the Alumni Relations Office concentrating on alumni who have graduated within the most recent 10 years.  The Assistant Director will work with the BOLD Council to solicit gift support from all young alumni.  In particular the Assistant Director will work directly with three reunion classes (5th, 10th, and 15th), direct mail, and class agents.  The Assistant Director will maintain a portfolio of current young alumni and will travel to make face-to- face visits and solicit leadership giving through the Cupola Society Associates.  In addition to BOLD responsibilities, the Assistant Director will have responsibility for evaluating, revising, and implementing changes to the current Class Agent program for the general alumni population.   He/she will also evaluate the performance of programs via benchmarking reports.  Travel and event attendance may include evenings and weekends.

Candidates should think strategically and be extremely organized and manage many projects simultaneously; communicate well orally and in writing; be creative and enthusiastic; have integrity; manage situations diplomatically, handle information confidentially, and resolve issues with creativity; and understand the mission of a liberal arts college.

A bachelor's degree, preferably from a selective liberal arts college, is required with at least 1-2 years of successful fundraising experience, volunteer management, web design and maintenance and experience preferred.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with approximately 2,600 students.  It is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania, within proximity of Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
