Assistant Director of Foundation and Corporate Support

Gettysburg College seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Director of Foundation and Corporate Support, a newly created position within the Division of Development, Alumni, and Parent Relations.  This is a full-time, 12-month administrative and professional staff position reporting to the Director of Foundation and Corporate Support.  The Assistant Director will have primary responsibility for assisting faculty with research grant applications, but will also assist with a wide range of other tasks, including conducting research related to prospects and institutional proposals; writing proposals, letters, and reports; maintaining up-to-date records; and performing other activities as needed and as time permits.  In addition to working closely with the Director of Foundation and Corporate Support, the Assistant Director will collaborate with personnel in the Provost's Office who oversee faculty development, ensuring excellent communications between the academic and development sides of the College administration.

Job requirements:  Demonstrable superior writing and editing skills; strong research skills, with knowledge of print and on-line research tools desirable; strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle several projects; attention to detail; quantitative skills and comfort working with budgets; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and the ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with others.

Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of two years of professional writing experience, preferably in a development or higher education setting; experience using word processing, computerized spreadsheets, and computerized record-keeping systems; experience within an educational context; familiarity with the philanthropic process, proposal development, and/or grants management preferred; previous experience working with faculty on grants highly desirable.
