Assistant Director of Research

Gettysburg College seeks qualified candidates for an Assistant Director of Research, a position within the Division of Development, Alumni, and Parent Relations.  This position reports to the Director of Research and is responsible for conducting the identification, qualification, and tracking of prospects who support the College.  The position also analyzes data and prepares reports and briefing documents that assist colleagues within the division and, where appropriate, within the College at large, in support of the division's mission.

A bachelor's degree is required.  Two to three years of research experience, particularly in development or prospect research, or related experience in fundraising, university, or library/information sciences, or financial or legal research is preferred.  Experience in researching on-line databases and print resources for biographical, news, and financial information and in using tools for analyzing donor capacity and inclination, as well as prior experience as a prospect researcher in a development office within a higher education environment is desired.

The successful candidate will research, analyze, interpret, organize, summarize, and clearly report on a high volume of biographical and financial data.  Demonstrable skills in research, concise writing with attention to accuracy, details, and pertinence; the ability to work independently, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines; interpersonal communication with a variety of individuals; and maintenance of a high level of confidentiality are necessary.

Salary is competitive and complemented by an excellent benefits package.
