The Wellness Committee is excited to introduce the new wellness program. The goal of the wellness program is for all of us to stay well together as a Gettysburg College campus community. The Wellness Committee has been looking for new ways to refresh and improve this program. We feel fortunate that our new health insurance providers Aetna and WellSpan are able to partner with us to offer new options.
2016 Wellness Program Details
The 2016 program begins April 1, 2016 and continues through October 10, 2016. To qualify for the wellness discount on your 2017 medical premium, employees who participate in the Gettysburg College health insurance must complete the following requirements:
#1 - Health Assessment
- Log in to your secure member website at www.aetna.com. New to the site? Just click “Register.”
- Scroll over “Health Records.”
- Choose the “Take a health assessment” link — and go!
You can easily finish in one sitting, but you can always come back later. Answers are saved. Please review the flyer Aetna Health Assessment.
#2 – Complete ONE Journey
Once you complete the health assessment, Aetna will recommend “Journeys” based on your results. You may choose to complete one that is recommended or you may choose any other Journey offered. You are ONLY required to complete ONE Journey. Journeys may take up to 32 days to complete so do not wait long to start. Please review the flyer How to Access Aetna Journeys.
#3 – Multiphasic Blood Screening (MBS)
At the beginning of the Fall semester, you will receive information regarding registration for the MBS. You will register through CNAV, My MBS. Registration will open in late August 2016.
Screenings will take place on these dates:
Friday, September 23, 2016
Wednesday, September 28, 2016
Thursday, September 29, 2016
The deadline for having all 3 steps completed is October 10, 2016.
Bonus: When you complete # 1 and 2 above, Aetna will send you a $50 gift card. You will receive an email from Aetna with various gift cards choices.
An additional covered dependent (age 18 or older) is also eligible for the gift card upon completion of #1 and #2 above. There is a $100 per family limit.
If you do not participate in the College’s health insurance, you are more than welcome to attend or participate in any programs offered by the Wellness Committee throughout the year, such as:
- Multiphasic Blood Screening
- Financial Fitness Workshops
- Educational Lunch Meetings
- Spring into Fitness
- Physical Fitness Activities and Classes in Jaeger Center
- Walking parties
- Access to personal trainer
Although you will not have access to the Aetna website, health assessments or Journeys, you are eligible to win or earn any of the incentives offered at the other events offered.
Good luck in achieving your wellness goals!
