Gettysburg College invites nominations and expressions of interest for the position of President.
The College seeks an accomplished, energetic leader with the vision and experience to engage its many constituencies in enhancing the College's national visibility and financial resources, while furthering its commitments to a rigorous liberal arts education with a global perspective, dedication to public service and an enriching campus life. Candidates should have the ability to articulate passionately and embrace the values and mission of a residential liberal arts college and experience in developing plans and raising funds to further the strategic directions of an institution. The President is the chief executive officer of the College and reports to the Board of Trustees.
Recognized as one of America's highly selective private liberal arts colleges, Gettysburg College prepares students to be active leaders and participants in a changing world. The College enrolls more than 2,600 young men and women, who learn, discover and create with the guidance of 204 full-time faculty members. The College offers more than forty undergraduate majors and minors and is home to the Sunderman Conservatory of Music, the Eisenhower Institute, and the Civil War Institute. Students are actively engaged in the plentiful study abroad, internship, and student/faculty research opportunities offered at the College. Within easy driving distance to Harrisburg, PA, Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC, the beautiful 200-acre campus enjoys a historic location adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park. The College's endowment is approximately $275 million and the annual budget is $100 million net of financial aid. The College is financially strong with a balanced budget, thriving enrollment, and clear strategic directions.
