Provost's Office
The Office of the Provost is committed to advancing and advocating for the educational mission of Gettysburg College by recruiting, retaining, and developing a strong and diverse faculty; by supporting an integrative, challenging, and contemporary curriculum; and by providing academic support services to faculty, administrators, staff, students, and other constituents both from within and outside the College. We strive to serve as an advocate for the highest standards of educational practice.
Our work is grounded in the following values, which we seek to express in our work: fairness, discretion, collegiality, accuracy, dependability, vision, energy, innovation, integrity, responsiveness, respect, collaboration, and educational quality.
Our work requires that we interact with many constituencies: students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, parents, trustees, members of the community, donors and perspective donors, representatives of peer institutions, federal and other governmental authorities, and the public.
Each Academic Department is represented in, and supported by, the Provost's Division; other academic administrative offices reporting to the Provost include Academic Advising, Musselman Library, Off-Campus Studies, Registrar, and Schmucker Gallery.
