Application Process
While there is no deadline, most member schools begin reviewing applications in the fall. Applications submitted before October 31 will receive fullest consideration.
Applications submitted on or after July 1, 2013 will be considered during 2013-14 for fellowships in 2014-15 academic years.
Applications must be submitted electronically as described below to Gettysburg College which acts as the application coordinator for the Consortium. Gettysburg College will share all applications with each of the Consortium member schools.
Each Consortium member school will handle the interview and selection process in accordance with its own internal selection processes. Following initial communication between an institution and a candidate, further information about the status of the candidate's application may be obtained from the designated person on each campus. The contact for each campus is posted on the Member Institution Contact List.
Once an applicant has accepted a fellowship at a Consortium member school, his/her name will be posted on the Consortium web site.
To Apply
Candidates may create an application through the online system by clicking: BEGIN/RESUME APPLICATION. By submitting names of references, the candidate authorizes the Consortium to request online submission of letters of recommendation from those persons. An e-mail is automatically generated and sent to referees informing them of the candidate who requests a reference letter. A link connects the referee to a website where a letter can be uploaded. A new letter can be uploaded even after one has been submitted. Please insure to inform your referees to address their letters of reference to the Fellowship Search Committee. Only the most recent letter will be displayed.
A candidate may cut and paste information into the application site. An application may be updated even after it has been submitted. Only the most recent update is visible. Once all materials have been submitted, i.e (Completed application and 3 letters of reference) the applicant must connect to the application site and click SAVE. Saving the application authorizes Gettysburg College to share candidates' application material with all Consortium member schools.
All applications are thereafter available to consortium member schools.
Applicants seeking postdoctoral positions with mentors who are active in particular research subfields are encouraged to visit the websites of the member schools to identify potential hosts and collaborators. Applicants may contact potential mentors with whom they wish to work to alert them to pending applications.
