My Story from Global Study:

One weekend my friends and I decided to go kayaking down the canal in Berlin. It was 7 km (roughly 5 miles). I, of course, found this on the internet, and it sounded like a lot of fun. As soon as we got in the kayak, it started down pouring rain, and it continued to do so for the first half of the kayaking trip. I was in a kayak with my friend, Julianne Boggs, and we were probably the slowest people in the whole group of 16. Luckily, the tour guide was so nice even though we could only understand roughly half of what he said because our German was not the best. At the end, we ended up roughly 20 minutes behind the rest of the tour as we tried to avoid the massive ships. We ended the trip in a random area of Berlin and ended up following strangers to the U-Bahn station because we had no idea where we were.

My Advice for Future Students:

I would tell future students to really take every opportunity that they can while abroad. If I did not, I would have never had an internship abroad, traveled to so many amazing places, and seen so much of Berlin. And if you are going to Berlin, try Wonder Waffles! (I promise it’s the greatest thing on the planet).
