My Story from Global Study:

One of my favorite memories of my time in Geneva, Switzerland was the time I got to skip past a long line of people waiting outside of the United Nations.  Through the SIT program that I was in, I was given a badge that allowed me to gain access to the UN's library.  We could go whenever the library was open to look at books or use their databases for research.  I already felt super official getting to wear this badge around my neck every day, but I felt even more official when one day I got to bypass a line of 50+ visitors waiting to gain entry!  Getting to take the train to the UN each day and eat lunch in the cafeteria surrounded by hardworking diplomats made me feel so cool and motivated to work there for real one day.

My Advice for Future Students:

Don't be afraid to choose a program that requires a homestay. That ended up being my favorite part of my study abroad experience. Getting to stay in a house with a family makes the country you're staying in feel much homier.  You get home cooked meals and people to talk to about your day.  I feel like I now have a second family in Switzerland, and I keep in touch with them via email every month!
