My Story from Global Study:
While I was abroad, I was able to help in a high school-level English class in one of the local schools. The class was mainly learning about young adult life in the United States. It was interesting to see the blending between American and French culture. Several of the students became very interested in the United States and wanted to know where they should visit if they ever traveled to the United States. It was a rewarding experience as I shared my own culture to a group of people in a city that I grew to love.
My Advice for Future Students:
I think some of the best advice I can give to students expecting on going abroad is to make many mistakes. Something will inevitably go wrong and you just need to embrace it. Learning from your mistakes is not just about what happens in the classroom, but learning how to buy a train ticket in a new language, where to buy shampoo, or even how to navigate public transportation will be some of your most valuable experiences when studying abroad.
