Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952) is one of the most important American photographers of the early twentieth century.  Original photogravures and other materials from The North American Indian (1907-30) on loan from The John Work Garrett Library of The Johns Hopkins University will be on display.  Supported by banking magnate J.P. Morgan and President Theodore Roosevelt, Curtis’s project reveals a particular perspective on Native American culture and politics in the United States between 1900 and 1930.
